STREET STOCK

2008 Street Stock Rules

       First point event will be April 25, 2008          

 

GENERAL:

  1. Anything not specified in rules must be stock, in original position, from original manufacturer.
  2. 1976 & up American made cars minimum 106” wheelbase.
  3. Cars must weight a minimum of 3200lbs with driver after race. Low profile Mustang, Camaro & Nova must weight a minimum of 3250lbs.
  4. 56% left side weight.
  5. Maximum cubic inch 360.

 

ENGINE & DRIVE TRAIN:

1.      Stock stroke max .060 bore.

2.      Flat top or dish pistons only.

3.       Hydraulic camshafts only max 455 lift on Chevy, 470 on Chrysler & Ford. Cam lobe lift on Chevy .300; Ford .033 lift. Stock non-roller rocker arms for make & model. May have screw in studs.

4.        Stock cast iron heads, No aluminum, No angle plug heads, Ford & Chrysler excluded. No angle milling. Screw in studs & guide plates optional. No porting, polishing, gasket matching or bowl work. 1.940 intake/ 1.500 exhaust maximum valve size. No titanium valve train parts. Only magnetic steel valves, springs, retainers, and locks. No blending of bowls to valve job. Stainless valves ok.

5.      Stock cast iron or aluminum intakes. May cut center of intake for 2bbl.

6.      General Motors Crate Engine #88958602 Engine must remain sealed at all times

7.      Carburetor:

 Holly 2300 #7448 (must fit all gauges).

      A.  General Motors Crate engine: Holly 2300 #4412 (must fit all gauges).     

No spacers, 1” adapter only. No cold air boxes. May remove choke assembly.

 No electric fuel pumps.

8.      Stock transmission only. Clutch, flywheel assembly must be factory stock. No lightweight flywheels (NO L88 Flywheels). No Hydraulic clutch assembly. Automatic transmissions may run remote cooler. Stock converter.

9.      Stock rear-ends for only, any gear, open rear ends Limited slip or locked rear-ends approved. 9” Ford rear-ends OK, must mount in all stock locations.

10.  Battery must be covered if located in drivers compartment.

11.  Stock HEI or DUI ignition, must be self starting.                                              
A special RPM limiting module must be used.

Approved MSD rev limiter with 6000rpm chip.                                   
(MSD rev limiter avalible from
Gardendale Performance. price $118.00).

12.  Engine must be in stock position!

13.  Under car headers optional.

 

SUSPENTION:

  1. Stock spindles for year & make of car.
  2. Stock frame for year & make of car, may be reinforced. No altering. All suspension must remain stock. Upper A-frames may be altered.
  3. Springs may be replaced but must remain in stock location.
  4. Weigh jacks approved on all 4 wheels.
  5. One steel non-adjustable shock per wheel, $100.00 max. cost, any shock determined to have a new price of more than $100 WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. (Mounting optional).
  6. Frame clearance 6” minimum.
  7. No offset cages.

 

BODY & APPEARANCE:

  1. Windshield may be replaced with Lexan.
  2. May cut for wheel clearance. Full stock body, door jams, firewall. Floor pan must remain stock. Trunk lid & roof may not be hulled. Hoods may be hulled. Must have dashboard.
  3. Body must be stock and in stock position on frame. No lowering, narrowing or chopping.
  4. Car must be neat appearance. AFTER MARKET NOSE MAY BE RUN.
  5. A single blade spoiler may be securely fastened to the deck lid. Maximum size  5”high X 60” wide.
  6. Roll cage required in drivers compartment. Bars under hood & trunk approved.
  7. Numbers must be at least 24” tall and non-reflected.

 

WHEELS, TIRES & BRAKES:

  1. 8” Steels wheels only (same offset on all 4 wheels).
  2. Disc brakes on front and drum on rear. NO after market pedal assy. One master cylinder.

Weight penalty will be added to cars not conforming to rules.
