2008 RENEGADE RULES
RENEGADE DIVISION IS A BEGINNER CLASS. NO ONE THAT HAS WON A BIR CHAMPIONSHIP OTHER THAN  
MINI STOCK(buzzz)  MAY COMPETE IN THIS CLASS!

CARS

Any 1976 and up 105" Wheel Base Minimum, front or rear wheel drive American Made automobiles   No low profile (such as Camaro, Firebird or Mustang).

Small block Chevy V-8 motors allowed (maximum 305 cubic inches).

WEIGHT

All weight checked with driver after race. No burn off or allowances.

Non-Chevrolet rear wheel drive cars: 3300lbs 52% left side maximum.

All Chevy Powered GM cars: 3400lbs 52% left side maximum.

Front wheel drive V6 powered car: 3300lbs 52% left side maximum. 

ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN

Completely stock. Engine may not be bored. Stock cam, NO modifications. Stock air filter and breather. Exhaust must run to a point past the drivers door post. (Muffler and converter maybe replaced with straight pipe).

Chevrolet maximum 305 C.I. Engine must run Holly 2300 # 7448 box stock carburetor no alterations. Maximum 1” adapter only. (Chevy Carburetor not included in sale of car).

V6 front wheel drive cars: Must run stock throttle body, or stock multi port injection. (Factory stock for make & model run).

All driver must have a Chilton or Haynes auto repair manual for year, make & model of car you compete in. (Must be presented anytime car is in tech area or face disqualification).

BODY, FRAME AND SUSPENSION

Body stock in every way - 4 door or 2 door. No Hulling of body! Left side drivers door may be altered for roll cage.  Stock frame height within 1".  Doors must be welded or strapped shut. NO RACING SPRINGS OR SHOCKS! 

MISCELLANEOUS

·         Alternator must work in original position.

·         Panels must remain on door and window tracks stock.

·         Head light buckets must be in place. .

·         Everything must remain in place except carpet and headliners.

·         Battery may be relocated in safe location. Must be covered if located in drivers compartment.  

SAFETY

No restrictions will be made on safety. Anything may be added to car to make it safer.

·         Racing seat belts required.

·         Full cage REQUIRED. Maximum 6 point and must not pass through fire walls. Front or rear. Minimum 4 bars on drivers door, and three on passenger door.

·         Fuel cell or 6 gallon gas tank recommended.

·         Fire extinguisher must be in drivers reach.

·         Bumpers must be chained with bolts or welded to prevent them from coming off.

·         NO glass except front windshield.   

APPEARANCE

All cars must have neat appearance. Header panels will have to be replaced within 2 weeks. Numbers must be readable to the scored. Non - reflective and contrasting (example - light color letters on dark car, dark letters on light car).  

WHEELS AND TIRES

Radial Tires Only. NO Recaps. Same size tires all the way around.

Maximum tire size P225 60 with no less than 300 tread wear.

Stock rims for base model car, stock offset. May be double centered.

Racing wheels permitted maximum 7” with no more than 3 ½” offset 

·         This division is intended for beginners and to be an affordable way of racing. No bending of the rules will be tolerated. Anyone deemed by officials to have broken or stretched these rules will be DQ’d from the event. If it’s not stock, It’s illegal!!!

·         The only other division a renegade driver may compete in is the buzzz division.

·         Anyone winning more than one championship will be forced to step up a division!

Top three finishers from previous event will start in the rear regardless of draw.
